My name is Jon Gossett, and I’m proud to be running for Tooele City Council. For the past 25 years, my beautiful wife Tracy and I have called Tooele home. It’s where we chose to raise our four children, and where they are now raising our grandchildren. There’s no better place to live and I’m committed to helping ensure Tooele remains a safe, thriving, family-friendly community for generations to come.

I’m a small business owner with multiple ventures, including a retail store located in the Historic Downtown District. I’m an active member of the Tooele City Historic Main Street Commission, where I’ve worked to help promote and develop a vibrant and welcoming downtown that brings our community together and supports small business. I strongly support business friendly initiatives that attract and sustain small businesses while continuing to drive broader economic development throughout the city.

As a current member of the Tooele City Planning Commission, I support good sense policies that support responsible growth, housing availability, and economic development. While growth may be inevitable, I believe our city must proactively plan and manage it to preserve our quality of life.

In addition to my business and civic work, I co-founded the Life’s Worth Living Foundation in 2014, a nonprofit dedicated to suicide prevention. Our signature event, the 100 mile - Annual Walk to Wendover, has become the longest suicide awareness walk in the country, offering healing and hope for those affected by suicide. As a foundation we unveiled the first bronze monument in the nation dedicated to solving veteran suicide. We do this by connecting struggling veterans and their families with resources. The monument entitled "Proud" can be seen at the Tooele Veterans Memorial Park, on corner of Main Street & Vine. I also serve the Homeless in Tooele County, where I work to address homelessness and their specific needs.

I’m running because I care deeply about Tooele’s future. I bring experience, passion, and a lifelong commitment to community service. I would be honored to represent you and respectfully ask for your support in this election
